Which secondary schools recruit your child's talent?

A CCA (co-curricular activity) is open to students once they're enrolled; every secondary school student takes part in at least one. A DSA talent is an activity a school recruits for through Direct School Admission, offering a place before PSLE results. Many schools offer an activity as a CCA without recruiting for it through DSA. Direct School Admission (Secondary) lets Primary 6 pupils apply to a secondary school based on talent — sports, performing arts, STEM, visual arts, language or leadership — before PSLE results are released. Successful applicants are admitted ahead of the S1 Posting Exercise.

Applications for the 2026 exercise closed in June 2026. The next window opens in May 2027, for pupils entering Secondary 1 in 2028. School selection trials, auditions and interviews typically run from late June to late August.

Through the MOE DSA-Sec portal, each pupil can indicate up to three choices, where each choice is one school plus one talent area (so the same school can appear twice with different talents). Applications are free, and only one parent needs to log in with Singpass.

Yes. A pupil who accepts a confirmed DSA offer cannot take part in the S1 Posting Exercise and cannot transfer schools after PSLE results are released. They are also expected to commit to the talent area, usually from Sec 1 to Sec 4.

Not always. Many schools state that applicants without formal records may still apply and are assessed on potential through trials, auditions and interviews — though achievements strengthen an application.

Talent lists were last refreshed from MOE School Finder on 9 Aug 2026. The next refresh is scheduled for April 2027, when schools publish their talent areas for the May 2027 application window. The 'Data updated' date in the footer of every page always shows the latest refresh.
